What the checks do:

• Prompt screening: The text you submit — including negative prompts, individual scene descriptions, and text produced by our prompt-enhancement feature — is analyzed by an automated content-moderation service before it reaches any generation model.
• Media screening for public figures: Images and videos you upload are analyzed by automated facial-recognition technology to detect whether they depict a well-known public figure. For videos, several still frames are sampled and analyzed rather than the whole file.

About the facial analysis specifically. This processing analyzes facial features in your uploads and, in some jurisdictions, constitutes processing of biometric data. We want to be precise about its limits:

• It is used only to decide whether an upload may be used for generation.
• We do not build a face database, do not compare your uploads against other users' uploads, and do not use them to train models.
• We retain the outcome of the check (whether it passed, and non-identifying reference codes), not the names of any people detected.
• The analysis is performed by Amazon Web Services on our behalf; see the sharing section below.

If a check does not pass, the request is rejected and — for uploads — the file is discarded rather than stored.

Data Storage and Security

We take the security of your personal information seriously. The data we collect is stored securely on our servers, and we implement a variety of security measures including encryption and access controls to protect against unauthorized access, alteration, disclosure, or destruction of your personal information.
